Certainly and above all, a symbol of great elegance. We will be tapping into sight, sound, smell, taste, and texture to make the Pantone Color of the Year for 2020 a truly immersive color experience for all.

Blu 2Immortal elegance, blue is a symbol of harmony, balance and peace. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of Classic Blue offer the promise of protection; highlighting our desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build. As we cross the threshold into a new era, Pantone has translated the hue into a multi-sensory experience to reach a greater diversity of people and provide an opportunity for everyone to engage with the color.

Of all the colors, blue is perhaps one of those most often used in the history of art and customs, although compared to red, yellow and other colours already present in prehistory, blue appeared later. The Egyptians would be the first to have obtained this particular colour from the lapis lazuli stone powder they used to decorate the tombs of the pharaohs. Because of the difficulty in obtaining it, blue has always been considered a solemn colour and has therefore been associated with wealth as well as with clothing to be worn on very special occasions.

Senza nomeThe idea continued until, in the 1950's, "jeans" appeared; at the beginning, this word meant a work clothing made of a very rigid and resistant fabric but it quickly became something that has completely transformed the concept of fashion up to the present day.  Everybody knows that blue is a "passe-partout" colour, perfect for any occasion, chic without being impressive; many icons of style and elegance loved it, we will mention just one: Jackie Kennedy. We have seen elegant women from all eras dressed in blue. It's no coincidence that today's blue, with all its hues and shades, is the colour we can't do without.

Charlotte - Style & fashion

Bonsoir, my name is Charlotte. My mother, ex-model for Saint-Laurent, is American but I’ve lived in Paris since I was 4 years old. Since my mother was often abroad for fashion shows, my French grandmother, a dressmaker for Chanel, taught me the way to become a real Parisian. Today, I’m a wedding-planner and my husband directs a famous fashion magazine. I don’t have to tell you that I have a front seat at all of the fashion shows and I’ve developed a good general culture about fashion. Although I’m the personal shopper for my friends, my strong points are marriage and elegance.
