THE FLOWERS OF THE PARISIAN HOTEL FOUR SEASONS GEORGE V

Jeffrey Leatham and the Four Seasons George V and its flowers have been bound together. Their story cannot be separated, even though Jeffrey Leatham is now artistic director for the George V. Working with roughly 15,000 flowers every week, Jeff and his team of assistants transform the hotel from season to season, palette to palette. Such imagination. Submerged purple orchids. Angled long stemmed roses. Hydrangeas preening for the guests. Every kind of flower in every imaginable design. At night, literally hundreds of candles are magically lit and scattered among vases throughout the hotel.

What does a delivery of 15,000 flowers look like? That’s the number of blooms, specially driven in from Amsterdam, that are delivered each week to Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris.

The flower arrangements of the George V (as Parisians called the hotel) are truly incomparable. The orchids are especially stunning. I was told by growers at a recent show in
Longwood Gardens, that these special Vandas are only available in Paris. “It’s a very special hotel. The industry looks to us for what’s next in floral design” says Jeff Leatham. “No one else spends as much time, money and energy as we do”.

FLEURS JEFF LEATHAMEvery three weeks, Jeff develops a new theme for the lavish and innovative floral arrangements and sculptural installations that are his hallmark. He and his team of assistants create at least two dozen major arrangements for the Hotel’s public areas – such as the Lobby and the renowned restaurant, Le Cinq – as well as the 150 smaller bouquets that adorn tables and desks throughout the property. The updates are done throughout the day so that guests can observe and interact with the process if they wish. “The best reaction is when jaws drop and people say they’ve never seen the same thing twice. That’s what keeps me excited and allows me to be my rock ‘n’ roll artist self” says Jeff Leatham.

“Art is a window into your soul, what you think about, what you like, what you want to be. It causes you to look at the world differently”. These words, quoted in Jeff’s book, “Flowers by Jeff Leatham” certainly reflect the emotional impact of Jeff’s floral artistry on guests.

Hailing from Ogden, Utah, Jeff is a self-taught artist, no doubt inspired by his three years in the fashion-forward world of runway modeling.

In addition to crafting his breath taking floral displays, Jeff collaborates with international luxury brands and venues; designs a line of crystal vases, candles and home sprays; recently completed his third book on floral décor; and stars on the American reality series Flowers Uncut on TLC.

Still, his role as artistic director remains closest to his heart. “My goal is to give our guests a new and unforgettable experience each and every time they visit, from the moment they enter the lobby to the moment they arrive in their room and at every turn and corner in between,” he says.

Charlotte - Style & fashion

Bonsoir, my name is Charlotte. My mother, ex-model for Saint-Laurent, is American but I’ve lived in Paris since I was 4 years old. Since my mother was often abroad for fashion shows, my French grandmother, a dressmaker for Chanel, taught me the way to become a real Parisian. Today, I’m a wedding-planner and my husband directs a famous fashion magazine. I don’t have to tell you that I have a front seat at all of the fashion shows and I’ve developed a good general culture about fashion. Although I’m the personal shopper for my friends, my strong points are marriage and elegance.
