Why are Parisians so often seen sitting on a café terrace with a glass of Perrier and a slice of lemon, or going to the office with a big bottle of spring water sticking out of their bag? And at home, infusions and teas, whether or not for detox, feature prominently!

Yes! Water is vital because life can’t exist without it. We begin our life in water… in our mother’s belly. Our body contains about 60% water and it’s required for all sorts of things: to transport white and red blood cells, it forms the main part of our cells, it’s used to cleanse our body and eliminate the toxins through our urine, etc…

It’s necessary to replace the water that’s so important for our body. Parisians are fully aware of this! It’s necessary to drink at least 1.5 liters of water every day.

glass-of-waterWater doesn’t lead to weight loss. This would be well known, if it were the case! However, it does provide a bright complexion by fully moisturizing the skin.

The challenge is how to drink 1.5 liters. How? 1 glass holds about 20 to 25cl, therefore one large glass when getting up before breakfast, 1 cup of tea or coffee during breakfast, (this already amounts to 40-50cl), one glass in the morning and one glass before beginning lunch (this leaves you less hungry!) and another glass of water in the afternoon or a cup of tea and one glass before diner. That’s it!

In the summer, when it’s hot and we perspire, it’s preferable to drink spring water such as fizzy water. This helps replace the minerals that were lost by perspiration.

In addition, the large glass of water when getting up just before breakfast helps improve your bowel movements without dugs. Yes, Parisians aren’t at all constipated!

Cécile - Health & beauty

Bonjour, my name is Cécile. I grew up in Provence between a grandmother creating perfumes and a naturopath mother. In this healthy and close upbringing, I learned how to listen to nature and discovered that our body is undoubtedly one of the greatest human resources. I’ve been a Parisian since I began my studies as a medical journalist. I discovered another world, fast and stressful but although exciting, where nature is too often absent. I started to divulge to my friends and readers, my secrets of youth or how to take charge of their health in order to get the most out of life.
