PARIS, HEALTHY DOMAND: DO OUR EMOTIONS MAKE US EAT?

Is there a link between food and stress? Yes, it works both ways. What we eat affects our mood, depending on whether we allow ourselves the food we like. And our emotions impact our diet: they suppress our appetite or, conversely, cause us to indulge. Food is a quick fix for relieving tension…

Everyone deals with stress in this way from time to time, and it’s perfectly normal. But in some cases, the need to eat becomes so overriding we can’t control it with willpower. Then it’s a good idea to get help from a therapist in order to break the “stress= food” reflex embedded in our subconscious.

mange emotionsCan we gain weight simply through stress?

Yes, this is common with some people. In cases of prolonged stress, their body secretes more cortisone, a hormone that promotes fat storage and water retention.

Why do we get “cravings” when we’re on a diet?

You only have to deny yourself certain foods (chocolate, cake, cheese, processed meats, etc) for them to become incredibly appealing. Result: you throw yourself on them compulsively. So you should avoid depriving yourself excessively …. or learn to use moderation.

Cécile - Health & beauty

Bonjour, my name is Cécile. I grew up in Provence between a grandmother creating perfumes and a naturopath mother. In this healthy and close upbringing, I learned how to listen to nature and discovered that our body is undoubtedly one of the greatest human resources. I’ve been a Parisian since I began my studies as a medical journalist. I discovered another world, fast and stressful but although exciting, where nature is too often absent. I started to divulge to my friends and readers, my secrets of youth or how to take charge of their health in order to get the most out of life.
